Mike Hechtner
Central Region President
Regional Agribusiness Banking Group

Mike Hechtner is responsible for managing the agribusiness lending operations of CoBank’s Central Region, which includes the Minneapolis, Omaha, Fargo, Lubbock and Wichita banking centers. These banking centers support agribusiness customers in 13 states.

Mr. Hechtner’s team specializes in serving the needs of agricultural cooperatives and other commercial agribusinesses that process, market, transport and export agricultural commodities. The majority of these customers are in the grain and farm supply industries. Regional Agribusiness also supports the fruit, nut and vegetable; dairy; livestock and biofuels industries, as well as credit and finance companies. Mr. Hechtner also coordinates efforts with Farm Credit associations throughout the Midwest and Southwest He is based in Omaha, Nebraska, and is a member of the bank’s Senior Leadership Team.

Mr. Hechtner joined CoBank in 2005 as regional vice president in the Omaha banking center. He has over three decades of experience with the Farm Credit System and agribusiness lending. Before joining CoBank, he was a senior vice president for Farm Credit Services of America and managed that organization’s agribusiness portfolio. Previously, Mr. Hechtner held leadership positions with Farm Credit Services of Central Arkansas, AgriBank and Farm Credit Bank of St. Louis.

Mr. Hechtner has a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics from the University of Idaho and an MBA from St. Louis University. He is also a board member of the Nebraska Cooperative Council.
